SDC is changing: we have a new visual identity. Our new identity is evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, enabling us to move forward into the 21st century, whilst honouring our incredible heritage.

Site Guide

ColourClick is a web-based service from the Society of Dyers and Colourists giving you fast-track access to the fascinating world of colour. Irrespective of industry sector, it will be the essential partner for anyone using or applying colour, or simply wanting to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments. You will see the benefits of:

  • Being associated with the world's leading society involved in colour and coloration
  • Receiving a unique package of valuable benefits based on the Internet, available only to SDC members
  • Networking with other people involved in colour from a variety of industries: share experiences and knowledge
  • Taking advantage of news, discounts and offers available only to SDC members.

There are two levels of registration:

  • Registered user: access to section home pages and basic services only: Site searching, contact form, resource file (company, product and service information); viewing job seekers’ details; shop
  • SDC individual member*: As above plus access to a wide range of other services: news, article summaries; directory of members; ability to list your CV (résumé) under job seekers; online forum; ColourClick mail and RSS newsfeed. For a full list of benefits click here.


*An upgrade to SDC professional membership is available which, in addition to those benefits listed above, will give access to SDC qualifications and the ability to record online CPD. Contact the membership office for further information.

ColourClick is organised into eight sections:

Some of these sections are divided into sub- sections, where applicable these are explained below.

Articles

(choose your preference from the 'Show' drop down menu or use the 'keyword' search for specific items)

  • Features: articles published by the Society, e.g. The Colourist members' magazine
  • Knowledge Base: 30 years of articles published by the Society in its journals: (a) Coloration Technology (articles published from 1999 on a pay-per-view basis, older articles free of charge), (b) Review of Progress in Coloration (review articles incorporated in Coloration Technology since 2006)
  • Media Watch: current awareness service summarising items from the world's literature on colour and coloration
  • SDC Tech: technical bulletins, guides and updates from the Society's technical department.

People

Resource File

  • International directory of colorants, auxiliaries, equipment and services: currently over 1409 companies listed under 188 categories, with contact details
  • Company listing
  • Free company listing: Register your company directly online with information for your current and potential customers.

Colour Centre

  • Directory of international colour courses (titles, content, location, contact details). Register your college department directly online with information for your current and potential students using the 'register college' facility.
  • Colour Showcase: be inspired by students and designers working at the leading edge of design in textiles, graphics and other colour applications
  • The Colour Experience: Join us in the SDC virtual Colour Museum, in our explorations into the wonder, science and technology of colour.

Forum

  • Discuss items published on ColourClick or other topics of interest on the forum.

Shop

  • Order SDC publications, subscriptions and other products and services, based on the ColourClick secure server facility.

News

  • Industry news: international news sourced from the fibre2fashion service
  • SDC news: generated by the Society of Dyers and Colourists.

Events

Other Services

  • Suggest items for inclusion on the site
  • Submit articles, press releases and other items for publication on the site
  • Receive regular members e-newsletters
  • Get the ColourClick RSS feed direct to your desktop using free Windows tool
  • Incorporate the ColourClick article feed on your own site using simple JavaScript
  • Search the site: Global - search box located on the left sidebar of every page; Section - keyword search box located at the top of most section home pages.

Although some of the services offered by ColourClick are available free of charge, you will need to register online first. This is a simple once-only process, contact us for advice or click 'register' on the home page left sidebar. By registering you agree that we (the Society of Dyers and Colourists) may use your details to contact you from time to time regarding matters related to your subscription or to other Society affairs. We undertake not to share your personal details with any third party.

The site is published by the Society of Dyers and Colourists in furtherance of its strategic objective of advancing knowledge of colour and coloration processes. We ask all users to use the site in a responsible and ethical manner. Material is based on information supplied or published in other media.
